La Piedra Escrita, Jayuya

La Piedra Escrita
Located on the mountainous and pleasant "taíno" town of Jayuya. La Piedra Escrita is a big whitish river rock full of taíno petroglyphs. A big "coquí taíno" symbol like that of the Island Map's taíno symbol is engraved into the stone. This stone is so big that it formed a river pool were everyone dips in (bring a swimsuit!).

This place includes amenities like a boardwalk toward the stone and gazebos. Entrance is free. There's a big paved parking area on spot along with some new "lechoneras" for roasted pig. Located about a minute away to the south is Museo El Cemí.
